Alliant International University - Yellow Ribbon Program
Alliant International University is proud to announce its continued support of the
Military student population and their families through its participation in and commitment
to the Yellow Ribbon Program, a provision of the Post 9/11 GI Bill, for the 2012-2013
academic year.
Participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program demonstrates Alliant’s commitment to our mission of making a difference in the communities we serve. The Yellow Ribbon Program assists members of the military community and their dependents in gaining access to a high-quality education.
The Yellow Ribbon Program allows degree-granting institutions to enter into agreements with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to fund tuition and fee expenses that exceed the annual $18,077.50 per-student private institution cap.
Institutions can contribute up to 50% of those expenses and the VA will match this additional funding for eligible students. This may enable qualified students to attend school tuition-free.
The Yellow Ribbon program is available for service members and veterans who receive 100% of the Post 9/11 GI Bill benefit. Specifically, those who have served at least 36 months on active duty or served at least 30 continuous days and were discharged due to a service-related injury after Sept. 11, 2001. The benefit can be transferred to eligible family members.
The total number of awards offered, the maximum Yellow Ribbon awards provided by the university (and matched by the VA) will vary based on the school in which a student is enrolled at Alliant International University.
Each award represents the maximum dollar amount that will be contributed annually by the university towards tuition and fees.
Current Yellow Ribbon Program participants do not need to reapply.
Active duty service members and their spouses are not eligible for this program (see: Yellow Ribbon Program Eligibility).
The following denotes the number and amounts of new Yellow Ribbon awards to assist with tuition that exceeds the $18,077.50 annual cap. This amount will be matched by the VA:
